Welcome to Hill 5! Miss Fitzgerald is delighted to welcome you to an exciting year of learning, growth, and discovery. In Hill 5, we are passionate about making learning come alive for every child by providing purposeful and memorable experiences that spark curiosity and inspire future aspirations. Our goal is to equip all Year 5 children with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to thrive academically and personally, preparing them to make a positive contribution to modern-day Britain. Through our engaging ‘WONDER’ curriculum, we aim to nurture a lifelong love for learning, helping children to remember and build upon their knowledge over time. We believe that education is a partnership, and we look forward to working closely with parents and carers to ensure every child reaches their full potential. At Spring Hill Primary School, our RAISE values — Respect, Aspiration, Inclusivity, Service, and Empowerment — are at the heart of everything we do, guiding us to create a caring, ambitious, and inclusive community where every child can truly shine. We hope you enjoy our learning journey!
Our class novel this half term (Autumn 1) is: Frankie's World by Aoife Dooley
Year 5 Book Spine Challenge!
We believe that reading is the key to success. As part of our reading for pleasure initiative, the children are encouraged to read all of the books on our Year 5 reading spine before the end of the year.
Spellings - Please ensure your child/children practice these on Emile 3x per week. They will also bring a sheet home which looks like the one below so that they are able to practice spellings with paper and pen if technology is not accessible at home.
