The Lighthouse

Welcome back to a brand new term full of exciting opportunities to learn!

Mrs Griffin and Miss Hussain have been super excited about settling the children back into The Lighthouse to begin a fun year of learning.

This term we are focusing on 'All about me' and we will focus on specific subjects such as:

  • Our bodies

  • Our family

  • Our home

In the Lighthouse, we encourage the use of playdough throughout the day. Playdough is a fantastic sensory resource because it encourages children to explore different textures, shapes, and movements using their hands. As they squeeze, roll and pinch the dough, they develop fine motor skills and strengthen the small muscles needed for everyday tasks. Playdough also supports creativity, language development, and concentration, while providing a calming experience that allows children to express their ideas and imagination in a fun and engaging way.
